I've been working for a WHILE on and going through the process of trying to get accepted at a University somewhere in Europe for this upcoming Spring semester. My first choices (Ireland, England, Scotland, New Zealand - in that order) were all full. I had to start the searching process AGAIN. Being a Biology student makes things a bit more tricky.. I want to find classes that will transfer back to TTU and could replace requirements in my current program. I also wanted to try living in an English speaking country for my first time living abroad. (I'll be gone for about 5 months give or take)
Well 'back to the drawing board' - led me to find the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. I found at least two biology classes being taught in English and several interesting language and culture classes. For example, Each One - Teach One is a program that pairs you up with another international student and the two of you teach your native language to one another. I started doing research on the city and while looking at the origins of the name... I was STRUCK by this... The second part of the city's name, kylä, means village. ( The wiki page for the city )
I had to put in an application after seeing that!!
So now... I'm waiting again. I don't want to get my hopes up too much because I was pretty sure that I would be going to Ireland or England and that didn't work out...
I will definitely being writing more as this situation develops. :)
Thanks for reading
