Pisa, ItalyI had a few days off from classes here in Finland and found a cheap flight to Pisa - so.... I went! It was FANTASTIC!
I was there about 2 hours before I ran off for an adventure to Florence with the local Couch Surfing group. What a great way to explore a new city!! I just had to follow the group and never had to worry with getting lost :) Florence was decorated with the Italian colors EVERYWHERE and the city was FLOODED with people... I found out that it was the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy! A HUGE EVENT! We stayed in Florence until almost 5am helping the people of Italy celebrate! I met so many wonderful people. I made very quick friends with a group of Brazilians. In fact... I ended up hanging out with most of them for the rest of my entire visit! The week included a Tiramisu competition party (YUM), A walking tour of the city, dinner with new friends, dancing, and a wonderful dinner party with food from many different cultures. I LOVED my time in Pisa. It is a wonderful and beautifully small city in Northern Italy (Tuscany). My favorite part, no question, was the all the wonderful people I met and spent time with :) |
